Graduate Program of Faculty of Animal Science UGM accepted new students from the Master in Animal Science Study Program. The event was on Thursday (3/2) through an online meeting. The head, the secretary, and the supporting staff of the Master in Animal Science Study Program also attended the event.

Ir. Nafiatul Umami, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN. Eng, as the head of the Master in Animal Science Study Program, explained the lecture activity. The lecture starts from the even semester will be held through a mixed method. The offline or online meeting will be discussed further with the lecturers in charge of the course taken. The mixed learning method still obeys the Covid-19 protocol and the current condition of the pandemic situation. read more

Graduate Program of Faculty of Animal Science UGM held the graduation ceremony for graduate students of Master and Doctor program Period II 2021/2022 on Thursday (27/8) by mixed meeting (offline and online) at drh. R. Soepardjo Hall, Faculty of Animal Science UGM. This ceremony was attended by the heads of faculty, lecturers, and the representatives of students. There were 11 students of the Master program and one student of the Doctor program who graduated.

The graduates of the Master program from Animal Nutrition and Feed Science study interest were six students, from Animal Production System study interest two students, a student Animal Products Technology study interest, and from Tropical Animal Reproduction and Breeding two students. A graduate from the Doctor program took Animal Nutrition and Feed Science study interest. Graduate Program of Faculty of Animal Science UGM until January 2022 has graduated 863 students from the Master program and 143 students from Doctor Program. The mean of Grade Points Average (GPA) and the length of study for the Master program in Animal Science are 3,83 for the study length are two years and five months. The mean of Grade Points Average (GPA) and the study length for the Doctor program in Animal Science are 3,83 for the study length are four years and three months. The mean of Grade Points Average (GPA) and the study length for the Master program in Universitas Gadjah Mada level are 3,67 and for the study length, being two years and four months. The mean Grade Points Average (GPA) and the study length for the Doctor program in Universitas Gadjah Mada level are 3,77, and for the study length, four years and seven months. read more

Graduate Student Association of Faculty of Animal Science UGM held the election for the next leader for 2022 period. This election was on Wednesday (26/1) through online voting. Luluk Lailatun Nurjanah and Hafi Luthfi Sanjaya, the students from batch 2021, became the candidates to be selected in the election.

The students from Master in Animal Science and Doctor in Animal Science took part in the election.   The 54 students had participated in the voting. Luluk Lailatun Nurjanah got 51,9% of votes while Hafi Luthfi Sanjaya got 48,1% of votes. Thus, the winner who became the next leader was Luluk Lailatun Nurjanah. read more

In order to support the Health Promoting University program of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Faculty of Animal Science UGM organizes sports activities. These activities include Zumba and Aerobics, badminton, and tennis. The sports activities might be attended by lecturers, supporting staff, and students of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM.

Zumba activity is held every Tuesday at 4.15 pm. at the first floor of Animal Science Learning Center (ASLC) building specifically for women. Aerobic activity is routinely carried out every Friday at 07.00 am. and can be participated by both men and women. Other sports activities such as badminton and tennis are carried out with a schedule that adjusts to the Person in Charge (PIC). read more

Universiti Malaysia Kelantan through the Faculty of Agro Based Industry on Thursday (9/12) has successfully held the Postgraduate Symposium IV with the theme, “Research and Innovation on Sustainable Food Systems” virtually. This symposium collaborated with Vikrama Simhapuri University (India), Yogi Vemana University (India), Guru Ghasidas University (India), Postgraduate Program at the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia) and Princess of Naradhiwas University (Thailand). Postgraduate Symposium IV aims to provide a platform for postgraduate students from local and international universities to share ideas, identify solutions and technologies for problem statements and exchange the latest information on research and innovation towards a sustainable food system. This symposium also provides an opportunity to build professional networks between postgraduate students and academics from other fields of study at other institutions. This symposium will discuss the latest research findings in various fields: Agrotechnology, Animal Science, Food Security, Agribusiness and Product Development. read more

Sunday, December 5, 2021 – Postgraduate Student Association (HMP) Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) carried out follow-up activities from the Compost Processing Training from Cattle Farming Waste which was held in October 2021. The activity with the theme “Socialization of Marketing and Packaging of Compost Fertilizer Products from Cattle Farm Waste” was one of the implementations of the Postgraduate Grant Competition Service Program of the Faculty of Animal Science UGM. This activity was carried out at the meeting hall for the Perti Dadi livestock farmer group, Duwet Village, Wonosari District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta. The marketing and packaging socialization activity for compost fertilizer products from cattle farm waste began at 09.30 WIB with members of the Perti Dadi livestock farmer group attended. This activity was well received by the village government, where Mr Warsito as the Head of Duwet Village was also present who gave remarks and motivation to the members of the Perti Dadi livestock farmer group. In addition, the marketing and packaging socialization activities for compost fertilizer products from cattle farm waste held by the HMP of Faculty of Animal Science UGM also collaborated with other service program which were the Postgraduate Grant Service Program Teams on the Dissemination of Gama Umami Grass and the student team of Independent Learning-Independent Campus or Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). read more

The Creative, Arts and Sports Division of the Himpunan Mahasiswa Pascasarjana (HMP) Fapet UGM or Postgraduate Student Association of Faculty of Animal Science UGM delegated 23 students to participate in the 2021 Fapet Cup. The Sports Week activities of the Faculty of Animal Science were held from Wednesday to Monday, December 1 to 6 2021. The purpose of student participation in this activity was to increase a sense of solidarity between Postgraduate students of the Faculty of Animal Science, as a forum for friendship among the student batches, as well as to foster a spirit of work and provide space for the development of the potential of Postgraduate students. read more

The exhibition of the 6^th National Outstanding Farmers and Fishermen Association (NOFA) or Kelompok Tani Nelayan Andalan (KTNA) Agro Expo 2021 for Agricultural and Food Products has been held from November 4 to 7, 2021, at Jogja City Mall (JCM). This exhibition was held together with the Investa Expo 2021, Gebyar of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM), Cooperation, and the Partnership and Community Development Program or Program Kemitraan dan Bina Lingkungan (PKBL), and the 2021 Nusantara Food Exhibition. The event was attended by dozens of participants from UMKM and selected Indonesian government institutions. One of the participants from D. I. Yogyakarta Province was Ariya Dwi Nugrahanto (Ariya), Master in Animal Science student Faculty of Animal Science UGM batch 2019. The product that Ariya has exhibited is Mataram Milk™, a superior pasteurized cow’s milk product that was developed, supported by the 2020 Penumbuhan Wirausaha Muda Pertanian (PWMP) program from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, under the guidance of the first supervisor, Ir. Himpunan Ilmuwan Tumbuhan Pakan Indonesia (HITPI) or Indonesian Forage Scientist Association (IFSA) held the 10th HITPI National Seminar on Thursday, November 4, 2021, with the theme “Development Strategy and Role of Functional Forage in Increasing Indonesian Livestock Production in the Hyperendemic Period.” The 10th National Seminar of HITPI was attended by around 385 participants from various circles and the number of papers submitted to be presented in parallel seminars was 54 papers from 24 institutions. The Postgraduate Student Association of Faculty of Animal Science UGM  held a “Student Gathering Event of Master and Doctor Programs.” The event was held online on Saturday, October 16, 2021. The resource person for this event was Mellisa Trisnadi, M.Psi. (Adult Clinical Psychologist and Official One Percent Psychologist), and Miftahul Hilmy (Standup Indo Jogja).

The Gathering event consisted of a webinar with the theme “Mental Health” and a stand-up comedy session. Students in the webinar session shared with Mellisa Trisnadi, who has a psychology background. They were also entertained with a stand-up comedy entertainment session by Miftahul Hilmy. The concept of a relaxed event was also enlivened by games and door prizes. read more
