The Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fapet UGM) has once again achieved international recognition through the International Innovation & Applied Solution Competition 2026, jointly organized by Maejo University, Thailand, and National Ilan University, Taiwan, from April 27 to May 6, 2026. The competition brought together innovators from various countries to present practical and innovative solutions to global challenges. The competition was held at Maejo University on April 27, while the awards ceremony took place at National Ilan University on May 6.
Fapet UGM graduate students earned two Gold Medals and one Bronze Medal across several innovation categories.
The first Gold Medal was awarded to Hasna Dyan Azkaratri, a doctoral student, in the Sustainable Food Systems & Environmental Solutions category. The award recognizes her innovative contribution to developing sustainable food systems and environmental solutions that address pressing global challenges.
The second Gold Medal was won by Tristianto Nugroho, also a doctoral student, in the Smart Agriculture & Digital Transformation category. His innovation demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing digital transformation in agriculture and animal science, promoting more modern, efficient, and sustainable production systems.
Meanwhile, a master’s student team consisting of Sularso, Nurul Mahmudah, and Ni Made Diah P. received the Bronze Medal in the Social Innovation & Impact Entrepreneurship category. Their project highlighted the importance of social innovation and impact-driven entrepreneurship by proposing a strategy to support the global expansion of Lampung’s local livestock and agricultural products, enabling them to compete more effectively in international markets through an inclusive and sustainable approach.
Dean of Fapet UGM, Prof. Budi Guntoro, stated that the achievements of the graduate students reflect the faculty’s commitment to fostering innovative ideas, applied solutions, and meaningful contributions to the advancement of sustainable livestock and agricultural development on the international stage.
“These achievements further strengthen UGM’s position as a university that actively promotes innovation and global collaboration through research and academic excellence,” he said.
