One of the tri dharma of higher education is to carry out community service. Community service is expected to help the community in finding solutions and innovations through various activities. In addition, community service is expected to be a forum for students to apply knowledge and learn directly.

The Postgraduate Student Association of the Faculty of Animal Science (HMP Fapet) and several lecturers conducted initial socialization of community service activity carried out in Duwet Village, Wonosari District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta. Administratively, there are six hamlets in Duwet village with a total population of 2,623 people, of which 1,271 are men and 1,352 are women. About 80% of the population work as farmers and ranchers. Data in the field shows that livestock ownership in Duwet Village is high. Almost every resident owns livestock, both as their main livelihood and as savings.
