The Double Degree Program in Animal Science is a prestigious collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Animal Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Kyoto University in Japan, and National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taiwan. Enroll Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
- Academic Transcripts: Official transcripts showing a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Diploma: The original diploma from the previous educational program.
- English Proficiency Test: A valid certificate from an English proficiency test such as TOEFL, IELTS, or UGM’s Academic English Proficiency Test (AcEPT).
- Academic Aptitude Test: A valid certificate from an academic aptitude test such as UGM’s Postgraduate Academic Potential Test (PAPs UGM), Basic Academic Potential Test (TPDA PLTI), or BAPPENAS’s Academic Potential Test (TPA).
- Accreditation Certificate: A valid accreditation certificate for the bachelor’s program from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
- Passport and Photograph: A colored scan of the passport (cover page and personal information pages) and an official passport-sized photograph.
- Additional Documents such as a curriculum vitae, personal statement, research proposal, recommendation letters, and financial support statement.

Scholarship for Double Degree
Peserta kuliah adalah mahasiswa dari China, Taiwan, Thailand, Filipina, Vietnam, dan Indonesia. Budi Guntoro mengatakan jika kita ingin melakukan penelitian, kita harus mengikuti filosofi ilmu. Dalam Filsafat Ilmu, terdapat cabang Ontologi dan Epistemologi. Ontologi adalah studi tentang apa yang ada, secara umum. Dalam Ontologi harus mempelajari tentang realitas sebelum kita mendalami pengetahuan ilmiah yang mendalam. Sedangkan Epistemologi mempelajari tentang bagaimana metodologi, metode, alat, dan instrumentasi penelitian.
Mahasiswa diberikan kesempatan untuk bertanya tentang perkuliahan dan berdiskusi. Beberapa pertanyaan tersebut adalah implementasi filosofi penelitian dalam penelitian. Dalam sesi diskusi tanya-jawab, Budi Guntoro menyampaikan bahwa ada dua macam skema penelitian yaitu penelitian deduktif dan penelitian induktif. Sebagai penutup, Budi menyatakan bahwa saat ini kita sedang mempelajari ilmu hewan, ilmu sosial, pariwisata dan studi lainnya. Sebenarnya kita memiliki filosofi yang sama, hanya berbeda dalam cara mencari jalan ilmiah. Sebagai mahasiswa magister dan doktor, mahasiswa perlu mengikuti dan menerapkan metode ilmiah.
