Study Program of Master in Animal Science (SP-MAS) of UGM has been always improving its quality in multiple aspects. To assure its excellence, SP-MAS has been equipped with both internal and external quality assurance procedures. The University’s Quality Assurance Unit performs an annual internal audit to assess the performance of SP-MAS. Meanwhile, as an external quality assurance approach, SP-MAS has been maintaining its institutional accreditation (BAN-PT) in national level.
In 2019, SP-MAS has submitted its registration for ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). The process took 1 year in preparation and the ending marked by the visitation by 2 assessors: Assoc. Prof. Chavalit Wongse-ek from Thailand and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosula Reyes from Philippines (8-10 April 2019).
The assigned assessors visited the infrastructures and facilities, i.e. administrative office, classrooms, laboratory, animal facility, and library. The event also involved all board of executives, lecturers, support staffs, alumni, and graduate users both along the preparation and on hearing session as part of the visitation agenda.
The result of the certification is still under review. SP-MAS believes that an international certification will help the institution to boost its confidence in global level and support in achieving main goal of Faculty of Animal Science UGM to be the top 10 educational institutions in animal science in tropical countries.
