The exhibition of the 6th National Outstanding Farmers and Fishermen Association (NOFA) or Kelompok Tani Nelayan Andalan (KTNA) Agro Expo 2021 for Agricultural and Food Products has been held from November 4 to 7, 2021, at Jogja City Mall (JCM). This exhibition was held together with the Investa Expo 2021, Gebyar of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM), Cooperation, and the Partnership and Community Development Program or Program Kemitraan dan Bina Lingkungan (PKBL), and the 2021 Nusantara Food Exhibition. The event was attended by dozens of participants from UMKM and selected Indonesian government institutions. One of the participants from D. I. Yogyakarta Province was Ariya Dwi Nugrahanto (Ariya), Master in Animal Science student Faculty of Animal Science UGM batch 2019. The product that Ariya has exhibited is Mataram Milk™, a superior pasteurized cow’s milk product that was developed, supported by the 2020 Penumbuhan Wirausaha Muda Pertanian (PWMP) program from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, under the guidance of the first supervisor, Ir. R. Ahmad Romadhoni Surya Putra, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng, as well as the second and the third supervisor, Dr. Ir. Endy Triyannanto, S.Pt., M.Eng., IPM., ASEAN Eng and Satyaguna Rakhmatulloh, S.Pt., M.Sc.
Mataram Milk™ which carries the brand tagline to cultivate a culture of drinking milk and introduces local content culture in D.I. Yogyakarta is based on sociopreneurship. This tagline can prove the commitment of Mataram Milk™ to use fresh cow’s milk taken from farms owned by farmers whom the majority of them have been victims of the eruption of Mount Merapi, which are empowered and integrated with a reputable cow’s milk cooperative in Yogyakarta. Mataram Milk™ has many variants like 250 ml, 350 ml, and 1 liter of volume. The various flavor variants such as plain, sweet plain, chocolate, matcha, oreo, red velvet, blueberry, bubblegum, banana, and strawberry have been certified halal by The Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics Majelis Ulama Indonesia or Lembaga Pengkajian Pangan, Obat-obn, dan Kosmetika Majelis Ulama Indonesia (LPPOM MUI) and Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH). The diversification of Mataram Milk™ products from cow’s milk products that are in the process of development and research include ice cream, low-fat milk, buttercream, casein isolate powder, edible films, and also bioplastics. Ariya said that the achievements of Mataram Milk™ today cannot be separated from his family, loyal customers, and former colleagues. The colleagues are Praditya Wisnu Aji (S1 Faculty of Animal Science UGM 2013), Devanzara Febya Yusman (S1 Faculty of Animal Science UGM 2015), and Wisesa Pramudita (SI Faculty of Animal Science UGM 2015), as well as people of Yogyakarta City who helped and raised this brand, until finally the trademark was registered at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
In the future, the existence of the Mataram Milk™ brand is expected to contribute to the training of the entrepreneurial spirit of UGM alumni, introducing local content of D. I. Yogyakarta Province through product diversification and introduction methods, achieving various aspects of legality and business infrastructure pioneered to meet Badan Pengawasan Obat dan Makanan (BPOM), becoming a pioneer of handmade cow’s milk as well as fulfilling nutrition in the community, fostering the quality of farmer’s milk as an aspect of sustainability of the quality of raw materials, and having an impact on the creation of employment.
